Guyana Goldstrike Inc. () is a Canadian gold exploration and development company with a focus on nearterm production. The company''s operations are in Guyana, South America where its flagship asset the Marudi Gold Project is under development.

The main economic activities in Guyana are agriculture (production of rice and Demerara sugar), bauxite and gold mining, timber, shrimp fishing and minerals. The sugar industry, which accounts for 28% of all export earnings, is largely run by the company GuySuCo .

While we are grateful for the bounty gold brings, we are also wary of the challenges gold mining brings to conservation. Artisanal or smallscale mining is a key driver of deforestation in Guyana.
